Chick Cove Manor: The Farmhouse

We cannot take the credit for it, but we find this house has an excellent layout for a B and B.

It looks so small from the road! You will be surprised at the living space once you come inside and look around. It is actually two buildings joined together, which brought sections of the old wood siding to be interior walls, and helped preserve the unusual little arched windows of the ground floor bathrooms.

The front doors open to a tiled entryway with the screened porch on the opposite side. Guest quarters have their entrance off the center hall, opposite the dining room.

There are four bedrooms. Two rooms with king beds on the ground floor have private baths. The two rooms with queen beds upstairs share a bathroom, so we offer the upstairs as a suite for up to four adults, or for a family. On weeknights, you can book a single upstairs room and have the private bathroom.

The living room is yours to enjoy, for visiting or playing games. We offer highspeed internet, too, if you are not ready to leave it all behind. Guests enjoy the large screened porch, front deck, north patio and garden swings as other spots for relaxing, reading, or visiting. If you have friends staying elsewhere in the area, you are welcome to do your visiting here, as we have plenty of space to offer.

The private areas of the kitchen and laundry are at the far end of the house, away from guest rooms.

The innkeeper has a room by the front door, so if you ever need to ask for anything, you will know just where to go.
